Notorious motornapping group nabbed
CI T Y OF SAN FERNANDO - Members of a suspected notorious motornapping syndicate were arrested in two consecutive anti-illegal drug operations launched by this city’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit in Barangay Quebiawan recently.
This city’s police chief Superintendent Levi Hope Basilio identified the suspects as Mark Rafol alias “Jojo”, 29, leader of the criminal group, and Romeo Dumalos, 48. Both are listed as target drug personalities of this station.
Meanwhile, police also arrested three more members of the suspected criminal group who were identified as Lito Rafol, Jr. 20, Jeric Soriano, 25, and Christian Rodriguez, 33 during a follow-up operation conducted in Sitio Bagong Sibol in the said bar an gay.
Basilio said that the criminal group was responsible for numerous motornapping incidents in the city, commonly victimizing motorcycles left unattended in public areas.
During the operation, police were able to confiscate several dismantled parts of motorcycles suspected to be from those they stole and are set for selling, Basilio furthered.
Aside from this, Basilio said authorities were able to seize a total of 19 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) amounting to some P11,000 and other drug paraphernalia.
The suspects are set to face multiple cases of theft and violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, Basilio noted.
