PWDs benefit from foundation’s program
CLARK FREEPORT — Hundreds of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Pampanga are expected to benefit from the assistive device program of Widus Foundation.
This was learned during Wednesday’s media forum dubbed Talk Widus jointly sponsored by the Pampanga Press Club and the Widus Hotel and Casino.
Widus Foundation Head Ronnel Golimlim said that they have identified 133 PWDs for the foundation’s wheelchair program.
The project is in cooperation with the Angeles City Persons With Disabilities Affairs Office, headed by Philip Pelayo, according to Golimlim.
“We are going to identity 133 beneficiaries na bibigyan po natin ng assistive device for this year. Ang project po natin ay wheel chair. Hopefully this July po mai-implement po natin ang programang iyon,” he said.
Aside from this, the foundation will also provide 105 wheel chairs for PWDs in 19 municipalities in Pampanga, Golimlim said.
The project is being coordinated with the Central Luzon PWD Federation headed by Mary Ann Zamora.
“Ka-partner natin dito ang local government ng Pampanga at Central Luzon PWD Federation,” Golimlim said.
He lauded the support of the PWD sector to the foundation’s CSR program.
“Next week, they will be celebrating the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week,” Golimlim said.
Both Pelayo and Zamora thanked the Widus Foundation for helping the PWDs in Central Luzon.
