MILLENNIAL LEARNERS FOR 21ST CENTURY TEACHERS

-

ELSIE P. RIVERA

In today’s modern society, where technology becomes one of the most patronized changes that have been introduced all throughout the world influenced greatly the learners’study habit. Social Medias such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler, Instagram and other applications were easy to access even to our young learners.

These young learners are seem to be more knowledgeable in using modern gadgets, laptop, tablet and other electronic devices which they use in exploring different apps which lead them to enter sites that are not suitable for them. They are already open to the different situations and social issues that adults are expected to be the only one familiar with these.

These learners are known to be the “millennials” on today’s world. As teacher, we must do something to equip ourselves with strategies suited for these learners. We must embrace the challenges that the Department of Education has given to us. Let’s all grow together and be the 21st century teachers that these learners needed. Teachers who understand their needs, teachers who are not afraid of the changes that are going on with our curriculum, teachers who have the hearts to make the world a better place, through molding our young millennials mind the importance of education.
