The bulk of work of teachers is inevitable. It starts from the duties and responsibilities stated in their position description form. They seem very few but if we are going to dissect each one, it will be divided into many things that they need to accomplish. These tons of work stress the teachers and make them feel burn out. If it is not addressed, it will lead to depression or worse.

Considering the six hours teaching load plus the lesson planning and preparation of instructional materials, teachers are already bombarded with such tasks which main aim is to make the students learn. It is part of the work of teachers soit is already embraced by them but resulted to stress, which is an emotional strain from pressure related to work.

Just because stress in inevitable, teachers should have ways on how to deal with it. One of these is to apply time management. The number of works can be done sequentially depending on the time they are needed to be accomplished. A careful planning of the time can make teachers effective in the submission of needed reports for the school. Prioritization of tasks answers it all. One must know which among the tasks is most important and least important.

Additionally, self-discipline is a huge help. Planning things that are needed to be done can maximize one’s schedule. Yet, strict compliance on this schedule must be observed. Execution of the plan successfully is also a determinant factor which can be attributed to self-discipline.

A great combination of the two will benefit the teachers in reducing their stress.
