PORAC— Some 51 individuals have finished the free Backhoe and Payloader Community Based Training Program of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Provincial Government of Pampanga.

Vice-Mayor Dexter David said that the program was made possible through the help of Vice-Governor Dennis Pineda. The training was conducted inside David’s ancestral property at Hillside Resort in Barangay Cangatba. The graduates received National Certificate (NC) II for accomplishing the training as well as P3,000 allowance each from the Provincial Government of Pampanga.

The graduates were formally presented their NC II documents at the Porac Municipal Hall recently.

David added that 38 of the 51 trainees were from Porac town while the rest were from different towns of the province. The program aimed at providing needed skills training for locals who would like to seek employment in the heavy industries in the province. Heavy equipment training is a desired skill for those wanting to be employed in construction as well as the quarry industry in the province.

David added that the graduates can now have a better chance of finding suitable employment with the help of the training they have received and the certification from TESDA.

The Provincial Government of Pampanga has provided previous training programs here with TESDA in coordination with local offici al s.

David said that carpentry and masonry training will also be offered this July. There will be 25 slots for carpentry and another 25 slots for masonry training that will be offered to the public for free. The slots will be made available on a first come, first served basis.
