One great opportunity that a teacher would be able to have is to work and serve the future of our fatherland, our youth. This job would not be labeled as a noble profession for nothing. We offer ourselves to serve and make a difference. Thus, being in this profession is an honor and a chance of living a life purposefully.

Teaching is not just earning a salary. Teaching is earning love, respect and affection from others, particularly from the learners that we encounter. There are so many life lessons and experiences that we gain, making teaching meaningful and fulfilling.

Because of this, would one opt to teach for monetary renumeration? I wouldn’t think so. It is due to the fact that once a teacher is engaged in the profession, he is imparting not only his knowledge and information but he is also offering his heart in teaching.

Whenever a teacher teaches with passion, he wouldn’t get tired no matter how challenging situation would be. He would be able to teach not only concepts from the book but would make learners apply in their what he has taught beyond what books offer.

And so, he would be an educator who do not just teach. But someone who inspires. Learning then would eventually happen, and of course, the teacher has succeeded in touching his learners’ lives.

With this realization, if you want to be an effective teacher, do not just teach. Inspire. That is making a difference. After all, as the quote says; “To teach is touch lives forever.”
