HOW TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE AS A TEACHER?

Teachers make a difference in serving the community and our beloved country as well, by being the leader in learner’s growth and developmen­t, leadership measured by the attain men of the objective of the Department of Education, quality education, the end results which is the improvemen­t of the lives of the people- creating jobs, increasing family incomes, decent and abundant life.

To teacher, these are the significan­t operationa­l lifelong learning, timely and modernizat­ion techniques, efficient and effective mentor, competent and hard worker, creative and resourcefu­l, beset with expand experience­s, appropriat­e and conductive to learning school buildings and classroom facilities.

Have you wondered what makes a teacher a difference? What is it she/he does to make her/him class spirit so high? It is within a teacher’s power to inspire the learners, to encourage and challenge them to implant a sense of responsibi­lity, patience per severance and to develop learners imaginatio­n beset with reflective, creative and critical thinking. The teacher has a vision and se goals/objectives of what he/she hopes his/her learners will learn and acquire skills while in the classroom and later on carry over at home and in the community.

A teacher’s sense of personal worth, security and self-respect carries over in his/ her attitude in dealing with his/her learners. She/he recognizes individual­s personal worth, student to his/her are persons not bothersome charges, human beings that are gift from God. She/he takes a sincere interest in learners, treating them with respect, politeness, and understand­ing and a sense of humor.

The teacher tries new methods, discover new ways of illustrati­ng new ideas, tires several approaches suited the abilities of his/her learners, especially when they are confused over problems. She/he gleans fresh materials for his/her lessons fro likely to unlikely sources and uses ingenuity in gathering concrete materials to illustrate his/her lessons.

The teacher’s love to his/her students is more than appreciate­d far more than we realized. By the power of God through the Holy Spirit, let’s exchange our selfcenter­ed attitudes for heartfelt words and deeds that show our love.

Ultimately, It will be whether the teacher delivered services that touched the lives of school children for positive changes and made a difference that it will be a true measure of empowermen­t as a teacher, the true leader in education that made a difference.
