“Youth is the hope of the motherland”. How true this maxim implies that in their hands lies the future of this country. However, due to the different problems confronting our youth today, the veracity of the said maxim seems questionable.

Poor Nutritional Status is one of the contributing factors that affects the academic performance of the school kids. Accurate measurement of individual student nutritional status is required and administered among public high schools learners in our country in order to identify those who are at risk of nutrition related health consequences. Thus, every school conducts an intervention to address such problem so that it will at least help alleviate the poor academic performance of some school children.

Nutritional status on school children is very important for both physical and their cognitive development. It is indeed necessary to have proper nutrition so that their brain development will reach the optimum level. In addition to this is their physical development so that they can engage themselves to school activities like sports.

As such the impact of proper nutrition among school children greatly affect their academic performance and this should be the focus of every learning institution considering the fact that children are our legacy for next generation.
