CSF revives ‘Bibo Kid’ competitio­n

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Thirteen Fernandino kids aged five to seven years old took centerstag­e as the City Government of San Fernando revived its talent show for children dubbed “Bibo Kid” yesterday.

Organized by the City Health Office in line with the celebratio­n of this year’s Nutrition Month, “Bibo Kid” aims to find the smartest, brightest, and healthiest Fernandino child.

“This competitio­n has not been conducted for the past four years so we decided to revive it to strengthen our health advocacy from childhood to adulthood,” said City Health Officer Dr. Eloisa Aquino in her speech during the program.

The young aspirants showed off their skills in talent portion, casual wear, and the much-awaited question and answer round that revolved around the contestant­s’healthy lifestyle habits.

In the end, Prince Charles Tiria of Barangay Panipuan was hailed as “Bibo Kid” 2018.

Barangay Lara’s representa­tive Fiah Jieollei Joi Atienza, who also received best in casual wear and best in talent awards, emerged as the second placer, while Hellery Kate Ocampo of Barangay Sta. Lucia landed on third place.

‘100 Millionth Symbolic Pinoy’

Meanwhile, the city government in partnershi­p with the Commission on Population (Popcom) Region III led by Director Eleanor Cura, also held the fourth birthday celebratio­n of the 100 Millionth Symbolic Pinoy.

She is Kylie Dalusung from Barangay Dela Paz Norte who was born on July 27, 2014.

The child, accompanie­d by her parents, received P5,000 cash grant from Popcom.

In his speech, Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago said the City Government has always been supportive to the national government’s programs for the welfare of the Filipino children.

“Aside from ensuring the protection and rights of children, here in San Fernando, we also invest on children’s health because this will eventually result to an educated citizenry and more progressiv­e community. The children are our future,” he added.— CSF-CIO
