TEACHERS AS SECOND PARENTS

-

Parents love their children. These are gifts to them. Children are very lucky when they have loving, caring, hardworking and responsible parents. The happiness, contentment and the good relationship in the family defends upon what kind of parents are there in that family. There are still cases / situations wherein good parents are not guarantee to have good children. There are other reasons why children act rudely specially outside their comfort zones. The peers of the children, media, the environment contribute to his/her behavior.

In school, the teachers are the learner’s second parents. Many pupils/student are motivated to study harder when their teachers inspire them. As teachers be an inspiration to our learners. Let us treat them as our own children. We can show and let them feel their worth when we appreciate even their simply good deeds. Words of encouragement and gestures of concern work as means to change their bitter experience to BETTER ones.

Teachers do not just disseminate lessons, moreover, they are pupils/ students confidant. Some of the young minds cannot express their feeling, problems, doubts and queries to their parents. They tend to turn to their teachers or advisers to voice out heartaches, problems and the like.

It is fulfilling to be a teacher specially when treated respected and lovingly. If teachers inspire learners, the latter also inspire their teachers. It is just a give and take process. Give the love and respect and it will be reciprocated. Our choice of WORDS to our students affects their performances, attitudes and perceptions. Use soft words in talking to them. We cannot change the misbehavior of our pupils/ students by mocking at them, this act will just add to their rebellions attitude, instead get their interest and deal with them fairly and squarely. If we can feed their minds, good to feed the stomach too.

Actions speak louder than words, teachers must display acts of generosity and many positive values. They should set good examples not only inside the school campus but wherever and whenever. In this way, we can make help much building the wider range of dreams and future of our pupils/ students.
