Teaching is one of the most complicated jobs today. It requires to make a difference in the lives of young people. A teacher must have a lesson plan that will serve as the guide in delivering whole week lessons. Accompanied by visual aids, power point lessons and other materials to make the discussion and delivery of the lessons more productive. The classroom should be organized to avoid any distraction during discussion. While delivering the lessons, the teachers need to use HOTS questions (Higher Order Thinking Skills) to make the students think critically and apply the art of questioning. Who, what and why questions will engage students in the classroom participation. And the best answer that you can get from your students, are their feedbacks. Most of the time, teachers are actors and actresses in their own movie because they wanted to engage the whole class. They wanted to show the class that there is no reason for them not to learn, if only they will listen. Teachers do not come in class without knowing the subject. They should have the mastery of their lessons and make sure that there is smooth delivery of the lessons. They should be miles away from the learning of the students and make sure that they can answer the questions of the students if ever they have some clarifications. They are attending training, seminars and even pursue graduate school just to make sure that they will gain new learnings. They are the captain of the sheep that is why they need to take their passengers in the place they should go. They need to have a heart for the students because they are the second parent. They settle issues even it is already beyond their job. Because the beauty and heart of teaching career is knowing that you are making a difference in the lives of your students. You also need to talk to parents, explain the performance of the child, report any misbehavior, congratulate them for job well done and ask them to be your partner in molding their child. These are just some of many roles of teachers. ”A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love for learning” (Brad Henry)
