COMMUNICATIVE LANGUAGE TEACHING CONFERENCE

There is a need for ASEAN English educators and learners to concentrate on communicative competence by employing the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) method in classroom teaching or facilitating the English language.
In this light, the Vivixx Technical Academy will conduct the International English Teachers Conference (INETCON) 2018 with the theme “Communicative Language Teaching in the ASEAN Classrooms: Principles and Practices” this October in Baguio City.
The conference aims to review principles and practices of the CLT in ELT of the ASEAN classrooms and share ELT practitioners’expertise in using CLT to enhance communicative competence of Filipino and other ASEAN English teachers and learners.
It also seeks to strengthen Filipino and other ASEAN English language educators’CLT application and involve the participants in the assessment of CLT best practices for a contextualized ASEAN English language instruction
What more, the conference provides an avenue and an excellent opportunity for Filipino and other ASEAN English language educators and learners to practice and enrich their communicative competence, and produce a CLTbased Teaching Guide aligned with the Curriculum Guide pre-set by the Department of Education (DepEd) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in reference to the inputs of the CLT experts and practitioners that the INETCON will provide.
Target participants are English teachers in the pre-elementary, elementary, secondary and tertiary levels from public and private schools.
This year’s INETCON shall again have the official endorsement of the Department of Education (DepEd), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the Office of the President.
Also, they are on track to be recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) as an accredited Continuing Professional Development (CPD) service provider.
