IDYLLIC PLACE FOR LEARNING

- MACARIO V. CLARIN

STUDYING in Balucuc High School is of wonderful when nature becomes part of the learning process.

The ambience is stimulating and inspiring. It is surrounded by a calming scenery with its expansive acre of green field, sooner the luntian landscape will transform int oa spectacle golden view before yielding the granules. Standing and gazing at the west east direction it can clearly be seen the marvelous view of Mount Arayat. The school, despite located in the outskirt, it remains to be an ideal place for learning for its idyll in nature.

The school is not merely bounded by its scenic beauty, but inside the campus large canopy of the trees occupy the courtyard underneath benches were built, verdant and landscape contribute to a more pleasing atmosphere which make learning effectively fascinating while having delightful experience with its magnificent nature. In addition, the convenient and refreshing air make teachers and students to stay comfortably and peacefully.

Nature works harmoniously to everyone. Having experience the bliss of nature, there would be more reason to make teaching-learning more generating enthusiasm. In this refreshing institution, where everyone is stimulated by the beauty of nature it would encourage the students to appreciate learning while the teachers can utilize nature to be a part of the teaching process.

Nature can be a source of inspiration to teach students in writings both in English and Filipino. It can generate ideas by expounding the greatness of nature – the cool shade of trees, delightful sight of rich green foliage and the morning mist while the sun is arising yet overlay by clouds. Besides, when nature reveals its beauty, being part of it could produce an outpouring joy in life which can be expressed through writing. Hence, the poem of Wordsworth revealed his emotion through nature, he goes on to say how the memory of that glorious sight kept on with him and whenever he reminisces it is heart fills with pleasure and dances with daffodils.

In Mathematics, teachers can use nature in presenting examples -the tree yonder presents a nice parabola, flower and leaf, on a close study, show a mass of intersecting lines and a number of mathematical concepts related to lines and shapes. The trunks of palay standing in the fields give lessons on straight lines and perpendicular planes. The towering blue of mountain of Arayat introduces to mathematical concepts of triangle and cones.

In Science, because factories and vehicles are sending more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, trees are helpful in absorbing gasses and purify the air. Trees also prevent soil erosion.

While science explains the empirical processes and solutions, on the other hand, trees have correlation with dancing, the subtle movement of the trunks, and leaves through air shows its gracefulness and flexibility. Likewise, it can also hear a classic melodious music like those twittering birds in the morning while they are flying and playing from one tree to another as if they are enjoying with the great ambience of nature.

But looking beyond all these astounding and perfect creation of God, for everyone needs to be part in taking care of and giving of importance to its usefulness. Nature is a priceless gift to mankind.

At present, Balucuc High School enjoys substantial development in terms of infrastructure and acquires various technologies to enhance teaching capabilities and results but the school principal, assures that the school atmosphere will be preserved where teachers and students can enjoy the benefits of nature.
