HOW DO TEACHERS SHOW THEIR LOVE FOR THEIR STUDENTS?

- MARDY B. SALCEDO

School is an institution where teachers and students are engaged in the business of teaching and learning. The students, the teachers’ clientele, absorb and digest the information being taught in the different disciplines where change or transformation in terms of knowledge , skills, attitudes happen. As surrogate parents who prepare these children to become productive professionals like them, gestures and acts are ways of how they show their love for their students.

1. Being mindful that school is a business enterprise. For this reason students are provided with an environment conducive for learning.

2. Being guided by the principle that the school is the source of their bread and butter. This principle makes the teachers think that their work is the most important aspects of their life.

3. The existence of students in the school is the very reason of teachers’ engagement to work in the school. Without the students in the school they do not have work and business in the school.

4. Accepting with their whole heart their role as surrogate parents to their students. The school is their second home with their students away from home. As a teachers, they accommodate them, welcome them like their real sons and daughters.

5. Giving the best quality teaching. The best expression of love they manifest with students in their quality time sharing their knowledge with the students.

6. Prioritizing official matters over their personal needs. The adage goes, “service to others means service to God.

7. Being considerate with the feelings of the students. Giving praise for students’ correct answer is a healthy practice.

8. Not overloading students with too many requirements.

9. Making sure that the students have improved academically.

10.Leaving legacy to the students , a mark by which they will always be remembered.
