Angelina Cruz reveals dad Cesar Montano did not respond after she reached out to him

Angelina Cruz thanks Macky Mathay for being a father figure to her.

Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano’s daughter Angelina Cruz is starting to make a name for herself. After being launched as an up-andcoming artist just last year, she has managed to achieve millions of streams on Spotify though her previouslyreleased singles. Now, she’s set to take her music further as she has officially launched her self-titled debut EP under Universal Records.

Currently a Grade 11 student at the De La Salle Santiago Zobel School, Angelina said that school will remain her number one priority even though she is also focused on her music.

“Usually, I need to know my priorities. I need to get my priorities straight first so school is my number one priority, obviously. So whenever there might be guestings on a weekday, I can’t do it. I usually decline it and maybe ask if we can do it on a weekend because I usually have to focus on my school first because if ever I’m absent, I miss a lot of things. I’m obviously absent now because of the presscon and it’s really important to me. Right now, school is my number one priority,” she said in an exclusive interview with PUSH during her EP l au n ch .

Although she is getting all the support she needs from her mom, Angelina admitted she tried to reach out to her dad to no avail.

“I tried reaching out to him but he hasn’t replied or anything. And I know what he’s going through. I just wish his issue could be resolved and I just wish the best for him,” the 16-year-old singer stated.

But even though she doesn’t have her dad by her side, Angelina said she was thankful to her mom’s boyfriend Macky Mathay— who was in attendance at her EP launch— for being a good father to her and her siblings.

“Tito Macky is like a father to me. He’s really supportive. Like even mom— mom’s very supportive of me. He tells me what to do whenever I freak out because I usually [do] before a thing or I get really nervous which he just tells me to calm down, to practice and that really helps me.

Meanwhile, her mom Sunshine Cruz expressed how proud she is of her daughter.

“Sobra. Sobrang proud. Lagi naman ‘yan eh. Every time I post something about her on social media, laging may #ProudMom because I’m really very proud of her,” she said.
