-

TEODORO G. WAGAS JR.

Today’s challenge to the classroom teacher is to enhance ones motivational capability to use multimedia in teaching. Utilizing print or broadcast alone became less efficient since the introduction of the computer, DVD, PSP and lately the wifi-enable gadgets but of course the biggest constraint of the dedicated teacher is always the budget for these materials. Time and the ability to learn the skill is not a concern but to have these in a classroom.

The resourceful teacher will be able to overcome this constraint and therefore start utilizing a power point presentation in the class with the cooperation of the parents, teachers and community association at least four units of monitors, a DVD player with USB port is the most affordable and practical set a class can use. The teacher they can prepare a presentation in a computer store it in a flash disk and that can now be a multimedia attraction to the trend dependent pupils of this generation.

Power point software is very easy to use in which you can easily encode data on the plates provided for by a wizard, simply type or copy then paste the inputs. Multimedia materials can also be inserted; the plate can be enhanced by giving animations, sounds, or inserting background music. During the presentation in the class, a DVD player is a convenient device in which you can manipulate the presentation by using its remote control. A sub-whooper speaker set can enhance the surround sound in a closed room which for sure a welcome innovation for the expectant ears of the pupils.
