City College of Angeles LET passers honored
ANGELES CITY – The City College of Angeles (CCA) school administration led by its President Dr. Richard Daenos hosted a testimonial dinner to celebrate this institution’s outstanding performance in the March 2018 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).
CCA emerged as the best performing school in Central Luzon and sixth in the nationwide ranking of LET (for schools with 50 plus takers) under the Secondary Level category. The college posted a 76.67 percent passing rate, which is comparably higher to the 29.91 percent national passing percentage. All 67 LET passers from CCA are first-timers.
During the tribute dinner, Councilor Edgardo Pamintuan, Jr. gave a motivational speech to the new batch of licensed professional teachers, and emphasized that they will now serve as second parents of the next generation for having passed the examination.
“It is now their turn to pass on the hope and the knowledge that the CCA has imparted to them.

May their hard work and triumph inspire them as they enter this new chapter in their lives as professionals,” said Pamintuan. Pamintuan, Daenos, and Dr. Filipinas Bognot, Dean of the Institute of Arts, Sciences, and Education, also accorded special awards to outstanding LET passers. Among the awardees is Borgie Quiambao, who achieved an 86.8 percent passing rate and ranked 25th among all the LET takers nationwide.
In his inspirational message, Quiambao expressed his gratitude to CCA, the parents, and his colleagues. He also mentioned that the school’s core values have always reminded him to become a better person and to pursue a greater goal.
“To everyone who brought honor to our college and city, thank you. Let us all be reminded, that our licenses shall not be used for bragging nor plainly serve as a valid ID, but it shall be an instrument to transform the lives of the youth,” said Quiambao.
Daenos also lauded the members of the school administration including its teaching and non-teaching forces. He attributed this “unparalleled honor for the college” to their dedication and untiring efforts.
“Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan has never been so wrong in putting up the CCA that helps improve the lives of our youth. This is the best legacy to leave the Angeleños as education will always be the best defense against poverty,” the college president said. Meanwhile, the 17th Sangguniang Panlungsod led by Vice Mayor Bryan Matthew Nepomuceno recently accorded two council resolutions congratulating CCA and its LET passers for their outstanding performance in the March 2018 licensure examination.
The CCA was built in 2012 under the administration of Mayor Pamintuan. The college solidifies the city’s commitment to serve young Angeleños with quality and affordable tertiary level education.— AC-CIO
