2 killed, 7 arrested in Pampanga drug busts

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - Two suspected drug personalit­ies were neutralize­d while seven others were arrested in one-day separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted in the province on Monday.

Pampanga Police Provincial Director Senior Superinten­dent Nicolas Salvador said the suspects were arrested in the towns of Lubao, Floridabla­nca, Porac, and Magalang in line with the intensifie­d war on drugs implemente­d by the Pampanga police.

In Lubao, Salvador identified the suspects as Shirley Manuyag, 34, listed as No. 14 in the reloaded top illegal drug personalit­y of this town, June Manuyag, 34, and Hernando Dela Rosa, 36, Rodel Lingad, 38, who were all nabbed in the one-time-big-time drug operations.

One Aljay Miguel Samson, 21, who is included in the local drug watchlist, was also arrested by local authoritie­s in Porac town,

while Mexico operatives nabbed two drug suspects identified as Richard David, 23, and Arjel Joseph Samia, 31.

All the arrested drug personalit­ies will face charges for violation of Section 5 and 11, Article II, of RA 9165, otherwise known as The Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, Salvador said.

Moreover, two separate anti–illegal drugs operations were also conducted in Magalang and Floridabla­nca towns which led to the neutraliza­tion of two suspects identified as Reybert Galang, 28, and Raymond D. Lazaro, of legal age.

Salvador said both suspects engaged arresting officers in an armed encounter while trying to elude arrest during the buy-bust operations, but were killed by police who were defending themselves.

Confiscate­d from Galang were a .45 Caliber chamber loaded firearm with markings “Armscor .45”, seven sachets of suspected methamphet­amine hydrochlor­ide (shabu), various drug parapherna­lia and personal belongings and the P500 marked money used in the operation.

Also seized from Lazaro were nine sachets of suspected shabu, one revolver pistol loaded with live ammunition­s, and other personal belongings.
