LEADERSHIP IN MANAGEMENT
LORENZA S. PANGAN
The ability to do great job of an organization falls under good leadership in management. Leaders should possess several characteristics in order to come up with good results, accomplishment and fulfillment. One is trusting or respecting people to do great job, when people feel that full trust, they will work hard to succeed, they even go beyond their duty and developed in themselves the confidence that they need. Leaders on the other side must also share the objective or the end goal of the organizations. People must be engaged in doing the best way and be directed on what needs to be done only when necessary. No monopoly of knowledge because no one person can have all of the answers. And through it all you found that creativity and resourcefulness of others result in better answers and a more satisfied and engage workplace but leaders must still take final responsibility for decisions.
They should keep decisions of the lowest possible level. When decisions are brought to you, as a leader, ask if this is really a decision you should make. Allowing your people will require reinforcement with your actions. Trust in their abilities get the best possible solution, crafted by those who probably know best, you people take care their signals from your behavior. You have to walk the talk. If you expect ownership, you have to show possession. If you expect dependably you have to show dependability. To be a great leader, people need to know that you understand their needs, are sympathetic to their difficulties and that you care about their success. Keeping your commitment to everyone in the organization sends a thought that you respect their effort and their time keeping, your commitment allows others and their work to continue without delay. Commitments are to be kept, keep commitments, be accountable, just as you demand from others.
