2 killed in armed encounters with cops in CSF, Sta. Ana town

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Two suspects were killed in separate armed encounters with police in the City of San Fernando and Sta. town yesterday afternoon. In this capital city, two robbery and hold-up suspects became subject of a police operation after their alleged victim from Baranagay Dela Paz here reported to police their illegal activities.

During the operation, the suspects, who remain unidentifi­ed at press time, allegedly resisted arrest and fired at the police officers. The armed encounter resulted to the immediate death of one suspect while the other was able to escape and elude arrest, authoritie­s said.

Confiscate­d from the killed suspect were 20 sachets of suspected methamphet­amine hydrochlor­ide (shabu), a gun and other personal belongings.

Meanwhile, one suspected drug personalit­y was also killed after resisting arrest during a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Sta. Maria in Sta. Ana town.

The suspect was identified as Challer Marañion, a resident of adjacent Mexico town. Marañion’s companion, who was unidentifi­ed, was also able to elude arrest onboard a motorcycle.

Confiscate­d from Marañion were three sachets of suspected shabu, a .38 caliber gun, the marked money used in the operation, and other personal belongings.
