HAU gains international quality award
The Holy Angel University has again received distinction for quality education when the Asia Pacific Quality Organization (APQO) conferred it the Global Performance Excellence Award for 2018.
The University was recognized by the APQO for “embracing validated management best practices, quality systems, standards, procedures and processes that are proven international practices for quality advancement and business success to support and sustain national and regional Asia Pacific economic development growth and success.”
Based in Auckland, New Zealand, APQO is the Center of Excellence (COE) for quality in the Asia Pacific Region which promotes and recognizes quality professionals and organizations.
Introduced in 2000 by the APQO originally as the International Asia Pacific Quality Award (IAPQA), the distinction was renamed the Global Excellence Performance Award (GPEA) in 2010, “to reflect the evolution in the field of quality from a focus on product and service quality to a strategic focus encompassing overall organizational performance termed performance/organizational/business excellence.”
The conferment of the GPEA, which is the only formal international recognition of performance or business excellence, reaffirms the University’s full commitment and adherence to outstanding quality principles and practices for which it was earlier cited through the Philippine Quality Award it received from Department of Trade and Industry in December 2016.
The GPEA 2018 Awards will be presented at the 24th APQO International Conference to be held at the Jumeirah Etihad Towers Hotel, Abu Dhabi on December 10 to 12.
