Tarlac State U opens new campus in Capas
Tarlac State University (TSU) recently inaugurated its new campus located in barangay Cristo Rey, Capas town.
The P4 million property, which was built in partnership with the municipal government, has three instructional classrooms and four administrative rooms that can cater to approximately 100 students.
“It will be utilized by our students residing in the third congressional district, particularly those taking up Bachelor in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Bachelor of Public Administration,” TSU President Dr. Myrna Mallari said.
“Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan made possible the construction of two single-storey buildings to be used for classroom and administrative purposes,” she added.
For his part, Mayor Catacutan said he had always wanted a TSU campus in his town so that college students living in Capas and nearby areas would no longer have to travel from Tarlac City to attend their classes.
“Transportation alone is expensive, costing our students around P200 a day,” he shared.
The official also added that the fund for the initial construction of the campus was from the Clark Development Corporation and they are keen in adding more buildings to accommodate more students.
Apart from this, TSU has three campuses in Tarlac City and one in La Paz.
