‘Focus on your studies’, Bizman to Candaba youths
CANDABA - A businessman based in this town has reminded junior and senior high school students from a public school here to prioritize their education to be able to achieve their dreams and goals in life.
Engineer Rene Maglanque, owner of construction company GlobalCrete Inc., told Pasig National High School (PNHS) students the significance of education backed by perseverance and diligence in uplifting the lives of the people.
“I, too, am like you when I was your age. I came from a not so well off family, studied in public schools and slowly climb my way up to provide a decent life for my parents and my own family now,” sai d Maglanque who served as inducting officer of PNHS’ parent-teacher association and club officers.
Maglanque assured the students that while the road to success will not always be as easy as others, but the sweetest victory come to those who struggled and fight for their dreams h ar d er.
He added that one’s success cannot be measured through one’s richness, level of social status, or even scope of connection among powerful people but in one’s contentment of his personal achievements in which he can able share to the society.
“There will also be personal factors that may discourage you on your way up — financial problems, emotional and spiritual stress, peer pressure and many more, but please, always try to look at the brighter side and be reminded of the better future that is ahead of you,” he told students.
Maglanque reminded the parents about their role as the core support group of their children, especially when they face challenges on their educational journey.
“As parents, our role is to support and guide them into the right path. But I hope we can avoid pressuring them into something that they are not comfortable of to avoid adding burden to their personal decisions,” he said.
For their part, the faculty and staff of PNHS led by their Principal Maribeth Santos expressed their appreciation and gratitude to Maglanque for gracing the event and imparting inspirational life experiences to the children.
