WHY STUDENTS NEED A HOBBY

-

JOSEPHINE SUMARNI R. JOCSON

There is an old saying that goes, “Everyone needs a hobby”... and this includes our students.

Why is this so? What can hobbies do for the youth?

According to research, hobbies help develop our tastes and our passions in life. But when students pick a hobby, they should also be productive ones. Students can be able to utilize the skills they built in their hobby to become more productive, efficient, and happier.

What are some of the more productive hobbies out there which our youth should consider?

First, there is cooking. This is one of the most productive hobbies out there, and everyone should try it – not just the students.

This hobby makes you more focused, and forces you to be “in the moment”. It also forces one to plan ahead. And with a lot of practice, students can get really good at preparing and making food.

There is also painting, which may not seem like a particularly productive hobby, but it can give students some wonderful perspective on their lives and can help unleash their creative side.

This can also allow students to tap into their thoughts, desires, and feelings, and can help translate them into something physical. This can also inspire our youth to be more productive.

How about writing? This is one of the most productive hobbies to have during one’s spare time. It is an incredibly powerful and important form of self-expression. It can help the youth to channel their energies into something which they feel passionate about.

Dancing is also an important hobby in terms of productivity. It forces the youth to learn routines, focus a series of practised movements, and use that as a template for achieving productivity.

Lastly, reading is one of the world’s most popular hobbies, as it has many benefits. It is also an extremely productive hobby, as it can be done easily during one’s downtime.

This hobby can teach our students new habits, behaviors, and patterns that will make them be more effective.
