A TRIBUTE TO MY TEACHER

A great teacher is onea student remembers and cherishes forever. Teachers have long-lasting impact on the lives of their students, and the greatest teachers inspire students toward greatness (Anonymous).

When I was still a neophyte in the field of teaching, some would ask me why I chose to become a teacher. Then, I would stop for awhile and think for possible answers...but no answer would come to mind except that I got inspired by my mother who was a teacher also and served the learners more than half of her life.

It is really true that a teacher affects eternity; none can tell where his influence stops as articulated by Henry Adams. As I looked at how my mother spent her life as a teacher, i can’t help but thank the Lord for giving me a mother like her who believed that life can become beautiful when one has a dream.As a teacher, my mother found her purpose. As Steven Covey said, we’ve got to find our voice first before we could help others find their voice too. And as a ripple effect, now that I am a teacher like her...I try to help others find the purpose of their livestoo and inspire them to be the best person they could be for the glory of God and country.
