HOW TO MAINTAIN PASSION IN TEACHING

- EDNA C. ANGELES

Teachers encounter many challenges in their field of teaching but if they really work hard, they will receive rewards in the future. As passionate teachers, teaching learners is more than just a job, it is a way of life. Watching learners in solving a complex problem, accomplish their projects and acquire better grades in the different learning areas give satisfaction and great joy to teachers.

There are times in every educator’s life where they wonder if they made the right decision in choosing the teaching as their profession. Then teachers reflect and reminisce all the times where a former student approach them thanking them for being such a superhero and wonderful teacher. The answer for their question is worth it and these moments make up for any of the tough and challenging experiences.

Struggles in teaching are sometimes experiencing by the teachers. If one teacher felt of losing the spark in educating the learners, try to break routine and make an innovation. Be creative! Start a new! Provide fun experiments and varied classroom activities to increase the learning opportunities in the teaching – learning process.

Maintaining the passion in teaching might be challenging. It is indeed a hard work among the teachers. To become passionate teachers, consider teaching as life’s unending happiness. Be inspired and love what you are doing. Use challenges as a door for growth and development. Passionate teachers will find a way to get more interested in what they are teaching, as well as to make things more interesting and exciting for their learners. By meeting all the learning obstacles, teachers are able to maintain their passion. With this, they can effectively and efficiently educate young learners.
