HOW TO BECOME A SUCCESSFUL TEACHER?

-

MARY ANN B. BALAGTAS

Teaching is a very difficult profession because you teach pupils for a very long time. You should serve as a model to every pupil because what teachers do, pupils imitate. We are also the second parents of every pupil, but do we give our best when we teach?

Here are some suggestions:

Always think that you are a missionary because teaching the pupils is teaching how the Lord teaches as if it will be your first and last teaching. Prepare everything before you sleep so that you won’t cram.

Keep your teaching lively and artistic. Act as an artist so that you can get the interest of the pupils.

Be resourceful. Use real objects if necessary.

Be friendly to your pupils but avoid over-familiarity.

Love your pupils. If they have problems you should help them. Be focused on your lesson. Know your objectives and pupils should achieve it.

Know your pupils from the very start of your class. There should be a mastery of the name of your pupils.

These eight suggestions may help you in teaching because “teaching is to touch the lives of a child forever.”
