Angeles councilor open to vice-mayoralty post
ANGELES CITY — An incumbent councilor here said he is open to the suggestions coming from his friends and his supporters who are pushing him to run for vice-mayor in next year’s polls.
Councilor Alfie Bonifacio said he is ready to run for vice-mayor and face other prospective candidates for the sake of his constituents who always support his political bids.
He said it is against the advice of his friends and families but he decided to visit the subdivision for the sake of the homeowners.
“How can I turn my back on my homeowners? I would’nt show up here? If there is a problem will I just stay away from it? I could not do that because I feel it’s my moral obligation to face them and the truth is, I would like to see how Xevera looks now,” Lee said.
He thanked Mayor Crisostomo Garbo and Xevera Homeowners Association officer Chook Santos for helping in the efforts to maintain the amenities inside the housing area.
Accompanied by city officials and teachers, Lee also visited the Dona Asuncion Integrated School which he established under his mother’s name.
Eight years ago, Lee was detained for the alleged housing scam but he denied the accusations.
But Lee said there was no such thing as double sale of housing units in several communities developed by Globe Asiatique.
He also expressed hopes that he will be able to talk to Pag-Ibig Fund officials to settle various issues concerning the homeowners including the ownership status over the housing units.
“That is precisely why I am here. I could not turn my back on my homeowners. Since I was charged, my homeowners have been in limbo,” Lee said.
He stressed that Pag-Ibig Fund is not his enemy. “Even for the next ten years the case will be there. Shouldn’t we just talk about this and solve whatever problem there is, especially there are homeowners involved?” Lee said.
He said it’s time to rebuild the communities for the sake of the homeowners. “It’s time we start rebuilding. It’s time we move on. Nothing will happen if we keep on feuding. The community will just go to waste.”
