ITY OF SAN FERNANDO - Amid the con about the alleged “Red October” plot, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Oscar Albayalde has assured the public that no one from the 170,000-strong police force will engage in the activity aimed at ousting President Duterte.

Albayalde made the statement during his visit in this city where he served as guest speaker at the Rotary Club of San Fernando’s weekly meeting held at Max’s Restaurant Villa del Sol on Wednesday.

Albayalde told the Rotary Club members that he is confident to say that none from the police ranks are interested in conspiring with the Communist Party of the Philippines, who are allegedly spearheading the “Red October” plot.

“We believe that the “Red October” plot is existing as confirmed by our president.

But as head of the PNP, I am outrightly saying that no one from my men will engage in that plot even if there are really groups and individuals who are tapping our policemen to participate,” Albalyalde sai d .

He stressed that if there will be an ouster plot against Duterte, it will surely not be coup-like that will be initiated by the PNP or the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Albayalde said that it will rather come from the grassroots “instigated by the oppositions.”

“This “Red October” plot is not an immediate threat because it will not be in the form of coup d’ etat because never that the PNP will engage in an form of coup d’ etat, it will never happen,” Albayalde assured.

The PNP chief said that the policemen are ‘very satisfied’with the Mr. Duterte’s confidence which is evident on the salary increase.

Albayalde claimed the “Oust-Duterte plotters” are targetting the grassroots, especially the labor sector, in organizing rallies and strikes designed to blame the President.

“The perfect example for this was the strike of Nutri Asia employees. The left-leanings infiltrated and influenced the workers because that is where they can gain sympathy, through the labor sector. That is their target,” he alleged.

Nonetheless, Albayalde assured public that the PNP will continue to ensure the safety and security of everyone and will work on preventing any possible activity that will cause chaos and alarm the community.
