EDUCATION FOR ALL

-

CLAUDETTE M. BONDOC

It has always been believed that if the society wants to reach its full potential, it must empower its people. Each and everyone must be given the same opportunity to grow – no matter which social class they belong to. Each must have a chance to embrace the beauty there is in tomorrow – with equality in education, we must ensure that no learner will be left behind.

Education for all is a global commitment to provides quality basic education for all children, youth and adults. It reflect we have come to the realization that there is a need for change in the programs and in their implementation. This is a painful, undeniable fact: most of us can’t even afford to graduate from high school; what more would we expect in college? The sad reality is that while a portion of us can send their kids to universities, a bigger share of our population would rather dispatch their children to neighbourhood stores to work and help their families. When we recall history, we come to understand the value of education as it has helped our nation become what it is today: free and growing to its greatness. In line with this, we give stress to the fact that the increasing number of out-of-school youths (OSYs) isn’t a sign of prominence at all. It is a symbol of our lacking will to alter our fate – and we therefore must make a move to change it. The authorities are reassuring the youth and every single member of the society that they may be able to reach the fullness of their potentials as long as they willingly participate in the different ALS programs – because no learner will be left behind.

It has always been believed that if the society wants to reach its full potential, it must empower its people. The birth of different educational projects is a sign that we are willing and able to change our course and chart changes for generations yet to come. Education does not guarantee success but it will help you get there. All of us must have a chance to embrace the beauty there is in tomorrow – with equality in education, we must ensure that education is not only for the few who can afford it. Education should be for everyone.
