CSF LGU fetes loyal employees
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - Some 71 local government unit employees in the City of San Fernando were recently recognized for serving Fernandinos for more than a decade during the loyalty awards at Heroes Hall here.
The City Human Resource Management Office (CHRMO) led the awarding, which aims to recognize and honor the dedication and untiring efforts of the employees in giving their all out support and excellent service to the local government and people of San Fernando.
The awardees who served for 10 to 40 years received cash, certificates, and tokens of appreciation.
CHRMO head Rachelle Yusi explained that the activity is one of the city’s programs to express its gratitude to the employees. She said she hopes that the said program will serve as an inspiration and motivation for them to do better.
“With the great support of everyone, our loyalty awards are continuing every year so every time they mark 10 years in service and every five years thereafter, they are being awarded. This is our way of thanking them,” Yusi said.
Yusi furthered that the city government has various programs for the welfare of the employees including health and wellness programs, particularly in providing them health cards, monetization of leave credits, and a personal enhancement program in order to develop their skills and competencies.
A midwife from the City Health Office, Lolita David, who served the city for 40 years, expressed her gratitude to the local government and gave an inspiring message to her fellow public servants.
“Because of the fieldwork, I gained lots of experiences. Many opportunities knocked before me, but I preferred to stay here. To my companions, you must really make sacrifices and love your duty, because besides what we receive, there is nothing better than to serve our neighbors,” David said.
For his part, Mayor Edwin Santiago lauded the awardees for being committed in serving the Fernandinos over the years.
“It’s really hard to say what being loyal or honest means, but here in the City of San Fernando, we know only one thing— there are employees like you who can sacrifice and give everything for their job,” Santiago stated.
Santiago expressed his belief that the success of the city depends on the dedication and commitment of the public servants.
“There is no other equivalent in your loyalty, so it is only right for you to be recognized and for you all to become an inspiration to others,” Santiago added.
