SASMUAN— Twenty five-year-old Anney May Angeles, the daughter of slain Sasmuan Councilor Jesus “Boyet” Angeles, will not let her murdered father’s legacy in public service be forgotten as she is now set in running for vice-mayor to continue her dad’s service to the town.

Angeles filed her certificate of candidacy under Kambilan last week, the political party that has chosen the elder Angeles as its vice-mayoral candidate days before he was attacked last October 6.

Police report showed Angeles was jogging on Dalan Baba in Barangay Sta. Lucia when two men stabbed and shot him around 6:30 am on Saturday, October 6. He was the number one councilor in Sasmuan.

Anney May on Monday asked Vice-Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Kambilan vice-chair, to help bring her father’s killers to justice.

Earlier, the vice-governor put up a reward of P500,000 to informants who could provide valid information on the identities and whereabouts of the killers and mastermind.

Vice-Governor Pineda called the attack “uncalled for and inhumane.” Anney May has expressed suspicion that the local police’s investigation could have been compromised because a possible suspect has been spared from questioning after a local candidate met with the municipal police.

She said Senior Supt. Nicolas Salvador, Pampanga police director, should send a separate investigating team to conduct an independent, serious and all-out probe of the killing.
