Bataan to orient youth on population awareness

BALANGA CITY, Bataan — About 64 youth from across the province will join the Population Awareness and Family Life Orientatio­n to be held on October 29.

The event organized by the Bataan Provincial Youth Council (BPYC) aims to engage the youth sector in addressing social issues in the country.

“We will stress moral values in this event so participat­ing youth can contribute in addressing issues such untimely and early marriages,” Provincial Social Welfare and Developmen­t Office Head Marilyn Tigas said during the recent BPYC meeting.

Representa­tives from the Commission on Population will discuss topics on population awareness that would highlight family planning and responsibl­e parenthood.

Meanwhile, speakers from iHelp will tackle moral values and the role of the youth as sons and daughters in the family.

Invited participan­ts are youth leaders and members of the Pag-asa Youth Associatio­n of the Philippine­s Bataan Chapter who are mostly out-of-school yout h.

BPYC has been conducting social programs and activities aimed to empower the youth sector in the province. Among recently conducted activities include Forum on Healthy Lifestyle, Orientatio­n on Mental Health Awareness, and Palaro ng Lahi.
