PRESCHOOL AGE: THE BEST TIME TO EDUCATE CHILDREN
APRIL R. ESQUIVEL
For me the best time to educate children is before they enter school. Children would just want to have fun, play toys, and roam around outdoors. They don’t care about anything in the world much more learning. Their world revolves around eating, playing and sleeping.
This is how parents come to the picture. While we don’t take away from them the habits of playing and sleeping, we must also inculcate in their young minds the value of education. We are living in the 21st century, the millennial age, where children are more competitive than the previous generations like Gen X and Baby Boomers.
We should buy toys that are educational and that would challenge their wits and wisdom. Children nowadays have easy access to watch educational programs through internet connections. Bible stories like “Super Book” can be viewed through network’s channel.
To sum it up, great people in the history never had a chance to attend formal schooling. Like Abraham Lincoln, who was born in a log cabin in the wilderness, chopping wood to earn the living. Andrew Johnson was a tailor was a tailor from his youth up to manhood. They never entered a structured classroom, they were never taught by a teacher, yet they managed to succeed through homeschool with their parents.
