GETTING ABREAST OF CURRENT EVENTS

It’s important for most students today to get abreast with the latest stories of what is happening in our country today. Students, although focused on their studies regardless whether they are in their primary, secondary or tertiary schooling, should be well aware of current events whether national or local.

If students would not know what the latest news is, they would be at a lost since what is happening in our midst affects whatever we do in our lives. Take the case of the recent tax laws, which if we would not know the same, we would be wondering why there is the increase in the price of basic commodities.

In some current events, there are stories of new laws that are taking effect or being implemented. Should we be not aware of these, we might be violating them or we might be guessing what’s in store with these latest legislations.

In addition, we need to know what is happening around us so we can adapt to situations brought about by anything that happens. If we are updated of the latest events or activities, we may plan any action needed in relation to what has happened. In other words, getting abreast of what is around us would make us prepared on what to make or what to do.
