A LAZY STUDENT

-

All of us feel tired and fed up with everything. There is a point when we get to be lazy and in my case, being a teacher with lazy students.

Have we ever asked ourselves what could be the underlying factors that contribute to why someone can be lazy at times? No, we tend to be so quick in judging. The things that might be on our minds are: first, that man will never achieve anything; second, what he is doing with his life is such a waste.

What we don’t know is that some of these might be brought about by some problems in life that are just so heavy that students’ studies get affected. Family problem is one affects students’ performance in a huge scale. This gives them stress and this eventually leads to students’ poor performance in class. In the end, low grades.

They don’t become lazy by choice but instead this laziness serves as their defense mechanism to cope up with the stress they feel. They resort to doing nothing because adding some work creates more stress. Many might think that a kid is such a lazy student but what they don’t know is that the fact a student goes to school means that he/she is still trying to fight and move forward.

It is really hard to know that people think you are just a ‘so-so’. Sometimes people around get really disappointed because they see the potential in a particular student. It is hard on my part and I bet everyone who experiences it feel the same frustrations I have.

Just an advice: students like them prefer being talked to by their teachers. It gives them relief and creates self worth that encourages them.

Now we know that every attitude we have roots from something within that is just so personal and deep that only the person himself knows. Let us all be understanding of the people around us. Our smiles and trust in them might change them and they will become better people.
