GOOD LEADERS CREATE GREAT DEEDS
It is every teacher’s prayer to work with a school head who understands the dilemma and hardships of the profession. Come to think of it, working becomes enjoyable when relationships in school are like that of a family’s. Once asked, what to do in case the principal dislikes a teacher despite of the things that he/she does. Somebody replied: “I will still do my best to please the principal, but if he/she insists on disliking me, then I can’t do anything about it anymore. I will just do my job to the best of my ability and continue teaching”. The teacher may have the best point but it cannot be denied that to teach without getting any appreciation at all from the very person who should be providing it gives any one a vague feeling. A feeling of being lost and strange.
Looking on the other side of the coin, a school head who warmly greets teachers early in the morning and smiles even when everything seems not to fall in place is a leader worthy of emulation. To lead by way of showmanship is always the best strategy that teachers would succumb into. It will be a bliss when the leader attends school with a light heart. The emotions are surreal that even beyond school hours, working seems immensely untiring.
To teach is to touch the hearts of many. In the same way that to lead is to touch the lives of many as well. And these people who are under the supervision of a good leader are the ones who excel in the academe: for they are motivated intrinsically and directed to reach a goal.
