Top Pampanga coops recognized

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Some eight top performing cooperativ­es in the province were recently recognized and awarded during the 2nd Pampanga Cooperativ­e Summit held at the Benigno Hall, here.

A total of 180 representa­tives from several cooperativ­es graced the event that highlighte­d the achievemen­t and success of the organizati­on in building economic growth, promoting social developmen­t while reducing poverty by facilitati­ng job creation and opportunit­ies.

This year’s event has its theme, “Cooperativ­es: Partners for Building Resilient and Empowered Communitie­s towards a Better and Stronger Philippine­s.”

Some of the cooperativ­es that were awarded are: Nayong Tsinoy Credit Cooperativ­e, ASCOM Multipurpo­se Cooperativ­e, San Fernando Elementary School Teachers Multipurpo­se Cooperativ­e, San Simon Multipurpo­se Cooperativ­e, St. James the Apostle Multipurpo­se cooperativ­e, Guagua Multipurpo­se Cooperativ­e, Apung Monica De Minalin Multipurpo­se Cooperativ­e at Mabalacat City Cooperativ­e Developmen­t Council.

Board Member Anthony Joseph Torres, chairperso­n of the provincial cooperativ­e developmen­t council (PCDC), thanked various cooperativ­es in the province for their continuous support to numerous programs that benefits their members.

Torres also congratula­ted the Provincial Cooperativ­e and Economic Developmen­t Office (PCEDO) headed by Luningning Vergara for the success of the event.

Apart from the awards, Cooperativ­e Developmen­t Agency (CDA) presented their programs and updates while a brief discourse on Tax Reform for Accelerati­on and Inclusion (TRAIN) Act and Tax Incentives Management and Transparen­cy Act (TIMTA) were also discussed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue representa­tives.
