Gapo eight grader wins regional ‘pantawid’exemplary child tilt

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— A Grade 8 student from Olongapo City placed first in the recent 2018 Regional Search for Pantawid Exemplary Child.

Fritz Blue Yson Gadaza was recognized for having the most exemplary character and brought home Php10,000 cash prize and a plaque of recognitio­n.

The 13-year old Gadaza is a consistent honor student and excels in Math and Scien ce.

Shane Lopez from Bulacan ended first runner up with P7,000 cash prize and plaque of recognitio­n while Khate Julia Quizon from Tarlac bagged second runner up and received P5,000 cash prize and plaque of recognitio­n.

“The search aims to recognize childrenbe­neficiarie­s of Pantawid Pamilya who are exceptiona­l in their households, schools and communitie­s,”Department of Social Welfare and Developmen­t (DSWD) Assistant Regional Director for Administra­tion Irene C. Crespo sai d.

A panel composed of representa­tives from DSWD, Department of Education, and Philippine Informatio­n Agency selected the winners.

“Contestant­s were rated based on behavior and practice (20 percent), talent (20 percent), wit (20 percent), involvemen­t in the school and the community (20 percent), and confidence or stage presence (20 percent),” Crespo added.

Gadaza will be Central Luzon’s representa­tive to the national search this November.
