DTI Bataan holds seminar on product labeling, packaging
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bataan recently conducted a Seminar on Greening the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through Environment Friendly Packaging.
The seminar was facilitated by Maiko Pascual, Marketing and Product Development Officer of Woodinspirations Crafts in Tarlac, who discussed various sustainable packaging alternatives.
The discussion included three modules on basic packaging and labeling, plastic labeling, and eco-friendly packaging.
Pascual emphasized that the environment should also be considered in choosing the right packaging materials for business products.
“What we need to realize is that the challenging part is not the material we will choose for packaging but rather what we will do with the material after using it,” Pascual said to about 29 participants.
Participating MSMEs are business owners of manufactured food products such as chips, nuts, sauces, and other locally manufactured food.
The activity is part of DTI’s Small and Medium Enterprise Roving Academy that capacitates MSMEs to be competitive in the domestic and international market.
“We still have various seminars on business development to be held for the rest of the year which will further enable business owners and entrepreneurs in the province to contribute to the economic growth,” DTI Bataan Business Development Division Chief Nora Reclusado said. (PIA 3)
