MAMYALUNG TAMU 2018
MARY JANE A. RAZON
Last October 26,2018 the Department of Education, Division of Angeles City together with the Angeles City Local Government joined hand to celebrate and enjoined a physical activity through Indigenous Kapampangan Games held at PNR- Estacion de Angeles. It was a very festive day were children from the four districts of the Division of Angeles played the different games such as Patintero, Tumbang Preso, Tumpakan Goma, Labulan Goma, Piko, Kulyut, Limbo Rack, Perdigana, Kusugan Tansan, Pukpuk Palayok and Pal osebo.
All the games were officiated by very well versed teachers from different school from the division in terms of sports and physical education. The festivity was also graced by our MAPEH Supervisor from our division and some other political personalities from the city. They also played with the children and tried some of the games.
It was truly a joyous feeling to see children play the games we used play during our youth where there were no gadgets, computer games and other form of playing materials that our kids spend most of their time nowadays. Physical activities are very important to us specially to our kids.
Why don’t we once in a while ask our children to play these games for them to experience the true happiness of camaraderie and the value of sportsmanship. It will not only benefit their physical attributes but as well as their mental and emotional aspect.
To the organizers, and participants of this event congratulations looking forward for more activities that will be beneficial to our children.
