Standhardinger way ahead in BPC derby

-

Felims of the seasonending conference. A downside for Standhardinger was a mere sixth-place finish by the Beermen in the prelims. They need to win two in a row versus the Alaska Milk Aces to make the bestof-five semifinals.

Barangay Ginebra center/forward Japeth Aguilar put in averages of 19.9 points, 6/ 9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 block, and 0.5 steal as he placed second behind Standhardinger in the BPC race with 34.8 SPs an outing.

Closely trailing Aguilar are Alaska Milk's Chris Banchero (34.2), NorthPort's Stanley Pringle (34.0) and Phoenix Petroleum's Calvin Abueva (31.9) to round out the Magic Five.

The next five are NorthPort's Sean Anthony (31.3), Magnolia's Paul Lee (30.9), TNT KaTropa's Terrence Romeo (30.4), Ginebra's Scottie Thompson (30.1) and Columbian Dyip's Jerramy King (29.1).

Banchero, who is enjoying his best conference in the local pro league, leads all comers in assists (8.7) while Anthony paces the field in steals (2.25).

A wild and wooly race is seen in the Best Import derby.

Alaska's Mike Harris (60.4), Ginebra's Justin Brownlee (59.1) and Phoenix's Eugene Phelps (58.0) are bunched tightly in the Top Three.

Aaron Fuller (57.4) is closely behind the three but he's essentially out of the race on the exit of NLEX in the tourney in losing their quarterfinal matchup with Ginebra.
