Capitol, DSWD sign pact for ‘lingap’ health center
ITY OF SAN FERNANDO - In line with the pro prioritizing the health and well-being of Kapampangans, the provincial government of Pampanga signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Department of Social and Welfare Development (DSWD) for the establishment of the “Lingap at Gabay para sa may Sakit” center at the Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Hospital yesterday.
The center was funded with P5-million by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
“Lingap at Gabay para may Sakit” will be assisting patients in need of prescription medicines via the issuance of guarantee letters.
Priority beneficiaries would be families or individuals who are indigent, vulnerable and disadvant aged;
informal sector and poor based on the DSWD Listahanan; government employees and contract of service workers working in the government; police personnel/officerswhowerekilledorwounded;andthosewho are in crisis situations based on assessment of social workers.
Meanwhile, Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda thanked the President for extending a helping hand to Kapampangans.
She also told Gemma Gabuya, DSWD regional director, that this will lessen the worries of a patient’s family, particularly for medicines.
It can be recalled that it was during Governor Pineda’s leadership that the consignment contract was signed, where a patient and his family are prohibited from buying medicines outside public hospitals supervised by the provincial government.
Moreover, for the lady Governor who also prioritizes health programs, this will ensure that all Kapampangans will be able to afford medicines.
Also present during the signing were Vice-Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Board Members Fritzie DavidDizon, Pol Balingit, and Cherry Manalo; Provincial Social Welfare Development Office head Elizabeth Baybayan and Central Luzon DSWD staff.
