PARENTS AND TEACHERS: WHAT THEY CAN DO TOGETHER
ROWENA P. CASTRO
Education begins at home. Most of a child’s ability to communicate, to interact to people, their attitude to learning take place first at home. Parents are the first teachers. They can get involved with the education of their children by instilling confidence and self-confidence. Good learning can be provided by parents by making sure there is quiet, undisturbed time for study. The use of too much internet may be monitored and limited. Parents can help give their children a head start. They truly play a very significant role in the lives of their children.
Developing sense of responsibility, the ability to solve problems and make decisions are skills that children need to have and should start at home. Teachers technically guide and motivate students. They provide knowledge among students. Yet without the involvement of the parents in the education system, children cannot learn effectively. Students’interest lessen if parents exclude themselves in the education process of their children.
It is greatly necessary to work hand in hand with the parents through proper orientation and constant reminders that when it comes to education, there’s no school like home.
