REMEDIAL TEACHING A CHALLENGE TO TEACHERS

“No read no pass” is always the password of administrators to all English teachers. It is on their hands where the literary prowess of the people lies.
The teachers are faced with the challenge to help pupils read in all possible ways. It requires so much dedication, patience and hard work on his past to handle pupils with reading difficulties. It depends on their teacher’s know how, resourcefulness and competence how a non-reader would gradually learn.
Reading interventions are introduced in the field to be utilized to the pupils categorized in the frustration level of reading. Some of these are Catch Them Early, Big brother/Big sister. Drop Everything and Read, Relish (Read a line and share Single Question technique and the like; all the techniques and strategies have the ultimate goal to remediate struggling readers).
It is really a big challenge on the part of the teachers to help children at risk read. It is through their dedication to make pupils read to learn and learn to read. As we all know that teachers play a big factor to the reading abilities of pupils, they can MAKE a child, for if they fail they will surely BREAK the child’s future as what the saying goes “Teacher can either make or break a child.”
After having adopted any of the intervention and you will see some improvement on the reading level of the pupils, you will realize that a challenging task can be attained if the teacher is compassionate and patience to help these struggling readers.
What if after the teachers have already exhausted all means to help these kids read but failed, what will happen to their performance ratings? Will the results affect their efficiency and competence?
We are just asking. For years, reading teachers intellectual preparedness and personal values have been put to test while striving very hard to do remedial reading to pupils with difficulties. Hardworking teachers deserve commendation for their commitment and dedication service. Concerned parents are likewise praised for exerting some efforts to help their children read at home.
The partnership of parents and teachers is the best formula where remedial teaching materializes.
Carry on the CHALLENGES teachers! Children depend so much on us.
