THE INFLUENCE OF A TEACHER
ARCHIMEDES ARVIE A. GARCIA
Teaching is not only a profession but a MISSION and a CALLING. A teacher is said to an inspiration to her/ his students, however it is disgusting to know that there are those who are not appreciative to their students.
It is very important that teaching be our own choice. We will not enjoy the tasks of a teacher if the profession is someone else’s choice for us. I commend those in the field of teaching who are dedicated in field of profession. There are really born teachers. To be dedicated, positive attitudes must be within us, primarily the concern on the academic and values formation of the learner s.
As teachers, we can influence not only our students but many people around us specially if they find us an awesome figure and worth believing. Gestures of love, respect and understanding the like can turn the bitter one’s to become BETTER individuals. Words of appreciations, truly boast the confidence of our learners. A tap on a shoulder, a smile, a thumb up are just simple yet recommending acts to uplift the esteem of a person.
Everyone deserves to be treated fairly and squarely, doing the other side of it will turn a person to behave unruly. Let us listen to the heartaches, problems of our learners. Let us be their confidant. It is really challenging to show concern to those who are rude in the class, prayers work. May our students have the trust to TRUST us as their second parents. There are many students who are bombarded with problems in their families. Studying is no longer a priority of a learner raised from broken families although there are some who are matured enough to be more persevere in studying.
The role a teacher goes beyond the school campus. It may sound indifferent yet a born teacher does it with love. The oath of a teacher is to enrich the mind and form the character into a productive citizen in the family, community and country.
