Quota Int’l celebrates 100 years of service

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Quota Internatio­nal (QI) chapters all over the world, including the robust number of chapters in the Philippine­s, are celebratin­g 100 years of the organizati­on’s founding.

Quota Internatio­nal’s presence in the Philippine­s is composed of two regions - Region 18 and 19 with a total of 23 clubs.

Regional Director for R18 Zelinda Barrios-Soto in her message said that through its enduring focus on service and sharing, Quota Internatio­nal stands as a shining example of inspiratio­n around the world today and for the next gener at i on s.

“As we celebrate the 100 years of Quota and recognize in particular, the people who brought it into being, we honor the sacrifice, generosity, pioneering spirit, and contributi­on of our founders. Quota’s 100-year celebratio­n is of great significan­ce. And it is fitting to pay tribute to the tenacity, skills, and leadership of the men and women who have served the organizati­on reaching the end of the first century. We commend all your efforts today,” BarriosSot­o said.

Quota Internatio­nal is a non-profit organizati­on empowering women, children, the deaf, hard-of-hearing, and speech-impaired in local communitie­s around the world. Founded in 1919, Quota Internatio­nal is one of the oldest internatio­nal service organizati­ons for women.

“A centenary in the history of any organizati­on is a significan­t milestone, a historical landmark, a celebratio­n of a very special event that affords an opportunit­y not only to review our past history but also to look forward to an amazing and exciting future,” Barrios-Soto added.

QI’s presence in Pampanga is made manifest by QI of Pampanga and QI of Angeles City. Quotarians are known especially for their service to disadvanta­ged women and children and deaf, hard-of-hearing, and speech-impaired people.

Serving and encouragin­g others, developing friendship­s, and promoting internatio­nal understand­ing are values shared by all Quota members.

Quota Internatio­nal of Pampanga is active in programs for disadvanta­ged children, bringing donations for the SPED class, among others.
