Quota Int’l celebrates 100 years of service
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Quota International (QI) chapters all over the world, including the robust number of chapters in the Philippines, are celebrating 100 years of the organization’s founding.
Quota International’s presence in the Philippines is composed of two regions - Region 18 and 19 with a total of 23 clubs.
Regional Director for R18 Zelinda Barrios-Soto in her message said that through its enduring focus on service and sharing, Quota International stands as a shining example of inspiration around the world today and for the next gener at i on s.
“As we celebrate the 100 years of Quota and recognize in particular, the people who brought it into being, we honor the sacrifice, generosity, pioneering spirit, and contribution of our founders. Quota’s 100-year celebration is of great significance. And it is fitting to pay tribute to the tenacity, skills, and leadership of the men and women who have served the organization reaching the end of the first century. We commend all your efforts today,” BarriosSoto said.
Quota International is a non-profit organization empowering women, children, the deaf, hard-of-hearing, and speech-impaired in local communities around the world. Founded in 1919, Quota International is one of the oldest international service organizations for women.
“A centenary in the history of any organization is a significant milestone, a historical landmark, a celebration of a very special event that affords an opportunity not only to review our past history but also to look forward to an amazing and exciting future,” Barrios-Soto added.
QI’s presence in Pampanga is made manifest by QI of Pampanga and QI of Angeles City. Quotarians are known especially for their service to disadvantaged women and children and deaf, hard-of-hearing, and speech-impaired people.
Serving and encouraging others, developing friendships, and promoting international understanding are values shared by all Quota members.
Quota International of Pampanga is active in programs for disadvantaged children, bringing donations for the SPED class, among others.
