DSWD hosts fun run for adoption consciousness week celebration
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Health buffs and participants joined yesterday’s fun run hosted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as part of the Adoption Consciousness Week Celebration 2019.
Pink was designated as official run color for participants who ran the rout from Olongapo Gapan Road Intersection to Bren Z. Guaio Convention Center.
The week-long activity highlights the theme, “Pagmamahal Palaganapin, Legal na Pagaampon Ating Gawin! (Spread Unconditional Love through Legal Adoption),” which reiterates the call to ensure that orphaned, neglected, abandoned, and surrendered children are provided with the secure, permanent and loving homes which they deserve.
Under the law, simulation of birth and tampering with the civil registry of a child is a criminal offense that may lead to six years and one day to 12 years imprisonment, and/ or a fine not exceeding P50,000.

The measure also seeks to expand the Subic Special Economic Zone by extending its territory to include the whole or part of the territory of the Municipality of San Antonio in Zambales and the Municipalities of Morong, Hermosa and Dinalupihan, upon resolution of their respective Sanggunian, for a period of not less than 50 years. Meanwhile, Clark Special Economic Zone’s Freeport zone will be increased from 4,400 hectares to 35,400 hectares.
It also mandates that the SBMA Board of Directors shall provide a Master Plan for the phased expansion of the free-port zone every two years in the Municipality of Olongapo, Zambales, and in the Municipalities of Dinalupihan, Hermosa and Morong, Bataan.
The proposed amendments also entail the creation of a new tax regime for the said economic zones.
