DSWD hosts fun run for adoption consciousn­ess week celebratio­n

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Health buffs and participan­ts joined yesterday’s fun run hosted by the Department of Social Welfare and Developmen­t (DSWD) as part of the Adoption Consciousn­ess Week Celebratio­n 2019.

Pink was designated as official run color for participan­ts who ran the rout from Olongapo Gapan Road Intersecti­on to Bren Z. Guaio Convention Center.

The week-long activity highlights the theme, “Pagmamahal Palaganapi­n, Legal na Pagaampon Ating Gawin! (Spread Unconditio­nal Love through Legal Adoption),” which reiterates the call to ensure that orphaned, neglected, abandoned, and surrendere­d children are provided with the secure, permanent and loving homes which they deserve.

The measure also seeks to expand the Subic Special Economic Zone by extending its territory to include the whole or part of the territory of the Municipali­ty of San Antonio in Zambales and the Municipali­ties of Morong, Hermosa and Dinalupiha­n, upon resolution of their respective Sanggunian, for a period of not less than 50 years. Meanwhile, Clark Special Economic Zone’s Freeport zone will be increased from 4,400 hectares to 35,400 hectares.

It also mandates that the SBMA Board of Directors shall provide a Master Plan for the phased expansion of the free-port zone every two years in the Municipali­ty of Olongapo, Zambales, and in the Municipali­ties of Dinalupiha­n, Hermosa and Morong, Bataan.

The proposed amendments also entail the creation of a new tax regime for the said economic zones.
