Underaged security guard nabbed for robbing workplace

APALIT - An underaged security guard was nabbed recently by local police here after allegedly breaking in and robbing a mall he was working for.

The suspect, who is only 17 years old, was caught on CCTV camera ransacking the personal belongings kept inside the office and sales inside the cash registers of 588 Shopping Mall located in Barangay Sulipan here r ecen t l y.

This town’s chief of police Superintendent Roland Agohob said that the mall management was able to discover the conduct of the crime upon seeing the next morning that the door leading to the main office as well as the cash registers 2, 3 and 4 of the department store section had already been destroyed and opened.

Upon seeing the camera installed inside the mall, the suspect was seen breaking in and looting the content of the cash registers, some watches and a laptop. The suspect also allegedly destroyed some of the CCTV cameras, Agohob sai d.

Agohob said the identification of the suspect immediately led to his arrest, as well as another minor whom the suspect asked to keep the looted cash amounting to some P26,000 and personal belongings including five watches and a laptop.

The suspect, together with his cohort, who are now considered children in conflict with law, were already turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development for proper action.
