From VS to O

“IN the realm of ideas everything depends on enthusiasm… in the real world all rests on perseverance “- - Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

“Perseverance” must be the word of today. It is a must have trait for leaders. Without it you might fail. Any goal worth achieving lies on the other side of difficulty. No matter how difficult to achieve your goal, do not give up, keep doing it, polish it, make good at it until the end even if it is hard.

During my first year of teaching, I didn’t have an idea about IPCRF. I just heard it from the teachers that everyone will make his own IPCRF. The Individual Performance Commitment and Review Form (IPCRF) is an assessment tool for government employees to rate their task accomplished for a year while Memorandum Circular No. 6, s. 2012 aims to ensure that both teaching and non-teaching personnel focus work toward achieving the Department of Education’s vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities.

I had the enthusiasm to make my own, though I was not that yet ready to show my Portfolio; still I got a Very satisfactory (VS) rating from my principal. Not bad for a beginner like me.

For my second year of teaching, I had a goal set for this particular school year; to reach for an Outstanding (O) rating. I planned on how will I deliver my lessons. I set a date in finishing my research output. Even my students were required to have their output also. I even invested on international seminars to update myself and to help me in delivering my lessons better. I was inspired to make my portfolio again because I heard the praise from my principal - that I am improving. I thought that I will get an “O”. Pero hindi pa rin pala.Siguro konting push pa.

I started asking myself. "What is missing? What is lacking on my portfolio?"

It seems that I gave it all. Feeling ko maganda na ang performance ko. Kulang pa pala… Feeling ko lang pala ‘yon na maganda.

On my third year of teaching, I didn’t give up and still gave my best for my students. I made sure that I would be much better than my last 2 years. I wanted to give the best education that a teacher could give to her students. I wanted to surpass my performance from my previous years. Angtsina-challenge kodito ay angsariliko.

Though IPCRF have a new format this 2018, it became much easier for us teachers to meet the objectives of the different KRAs. I need to watch videos regarding RPMS . I have to align my MOVs to different objectives.I need to polish my work and make sure that I met all the MOVs needed. I ringed bind it and pass my portfolio.

Finally, my “VS” became “O”! Wow! At last! I got a thumbs up from my beloved principal. Eto na ‘yong pinakahihintay kong rating. It seems that I'd reached cloud 9. The magical effect of perseverance comes in when you hit that goal. Mahirap kalimutan ang rating na pinaghirapan kong makuha an OUTSTANDING!
